This act of leading by example in reversing the brain drain eventually became an agenda with Rasola Hospital Research & Trauma Center,Nepal first Private Sector Hospital with TRAUMA CENTER that heralded the country’s burgeoning private healthcare industry.
The dream of making world-class medical available in Nepal spurred Mr Kandu to set up the Rasola Hospitals in Nepalgunj,Lumbani Pradesh in 2021 at a time when private healthcare institutions were virtually unknown in our country. The new hospital attracted the best medical talent, including eminent non-resident doctors from hospitals in Kathmandu.

Trauma is one of the leading causes of mortality and morbidity around the world. It claims more potential years of productive life than cancer and heart diseases do. Among various traumatic mishaps, injuries are a primary factor of death among youth. As trauma is time sensitive, the need for proper treatment has increased in the healthcare system worldwide. A well functional trauma care system reduces the likelihood of death and permanent disability. Trauma center as a part of that system, works towards resuscitation, treatment and rehabilitation care of all such patients.
We have been providing services free of cost at many instances to the underprivilaged people, who are unable to afford our nominal cost services. We aspire to provide excellent care to our patients. I express my immense gratitude to all the doctors, nurses, paramedics and other support service staff, who have made it possible to provide such quality care to our patients.
Understanding the need for quality Trauma care and Trauma relief center in Nepalgunj, Rasola Hospital Research & Trauma Center was established as the first and only Trauma Hospital of Nepalgunj, Banke. Dr. Manish Kumar Kandu ,Chairman of the Rasola Hospital Research & Trauma Center.
Dr.Kandu achieved his medical degree from the University of Central Nicaragua in Central America. He has done both M.sc and P.hd in Clinical Research and later Dr Kandu became the Member of Society Of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) Los Angeles,USA. It has provided its undivided attention and services to patients at the time of the Massive Corana (2020). It is well prepared for the mass causality of trauma victims. Rasola Hospital Research & Trauma Center, a public hospital, is situated in the center of the Nepalgunj city, Banke, Nepal. It is just opposite the bypass rode of Karkando to Khajura road. The hospital can be easily distinguished with its ten-storeyed building in white and beige colors. The hospital houses twelve departments, five major operation theatres, and one emergency. The departments in our hospital include Orthopedic, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Spine surgery, Burn and plastic surgery, Anesthesiology, Radiology, Pathology, Otolaryngology, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery, Dental, and Faciomaxillary departments. The mandatory posting of Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Radiology, and Anesthesiology residents of NAMS for trauma care has added extra strength to this hospital. The Trauma Center and its accomplishments are a result of effort, collaboration, and cooperation of the Ministry of Health (Government of Nepal), and our staff. We have excelled in such a short period of time due to the endeavor and dedication of such remarkable people. Our future plans include steps to extend fifteen more beds ICU, establish a well-equipped red area in the Emergency Room, initiate its own blood transfusion center, and provide MRI services. Our goal is to care for traumatic patients, and every single day we wish to touch upon the lives of various patients. We make it our priority to care for patients and ease their pain in ways possible.
